How to talk about it - Dr. Andrzej Depko in an interview

To recognize each other's needs well in the bedroom, you need to signal them to your partner. How to do it?

We are different - what pleased your previous partner may not necessarily be pleasing to your current one. And that doesn't mean at all that things are going wrong in your current relationship.

  • Tell your partner/partner about what you like and don't like in bed, but during the conversation don't complain or look for a culprit.

  • You both form a relationship, so you share responsibility for it. Instead of the "you" form, use the "we" form: we could; let's do; let's try...

  • Choose the right time for such an intimate conversation - neither just before you get close, nor just before the kids return from school. Find a time when both of you are relaxed and open to each other. Don't convey your frustrations with sex in bed to your partner/partner - the bed may not be associated with pleasure afterwards.

  • You can prepare for such a conversation by writing down your thoughts beforehand - this will help you find the right words, take care in choosing them and be less stressed during the conversation itself. You can make a note of it in the form of a letter, in which you explain to your partner/partner what you need, what you like.

  • Give yourself and your partner time. Don't expect him or her to make love to you the same evening, and in the way you dream of. You also give yourself time to think about what you have heard/heard.

  • Signaling to your partner what you need when you make love is a great communication workout that can bring positive results not only in the bedroom, but also in your daily life together .
