Kamil Pawlik

• I specialize in long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults (TFP - Transference Focused Psychotherapy) as well as short-term supportive psychotherapy in emotional crises and psychological support in difficult life situations.

• I work with people experiencing broadly understood crises concerning private life as well as in professional life; experiencing difficulties in marital/partner relationships and in contacts with loved ones.

• I also work with people in a state of low mood, depression and recognizing the experience of trauma (PTSD, C-PTSD) as well as with people experiencing personality disorders.

• I value cooperation with psychiatrists, taking into account the holistic view of the discussed difficulty.

• Graduate of Psychology, specialization clinical and personality (WSB National Louis University)

• Currently undergoing psychotherapy training in the psychodynamic approach at the Krakow Psychodynamic Center - the training program is recommended by the Psychotherapy Section of the Polish Psychological Association.

A very important aspect of my work is the therapeutic relationship, which is based on safety, discretion and mutual trust, which I try to deepen in the comfortable space of the office. I work in a psychodynamic approach, focusing on the phenomenon of transference. Transference is the unconscious process in which feelings, attitudes and fantasies from the past are transferred to current relationships. Transference also applies to the therapeutic relationship. The therapist and the patient work together to discover and look at recurring patterns that have their roots in the past and affect their current life. During the session, the therapist helps the patient recognize and work through these patterns in a safe and controlled therapeutic environment. This is done through interpretation and confrontation, which leads to awareness of how unconscious thoughts and feelings affect current relationships and well-being. The therapeutic relationship in this sense is an extraordinary adventure in self-discovery.
